Goal: My whole life I have never had a six pack. I have not made the effort to seriously get the physique I’ve always wanted. My goal is to gain 5-10lbs LBM and lose 5-10 lbs body fat and be about 6-8% body fat. In a nutshell, I am going to be like the guys on Men’s Health. I also want to relieve my shin splints so I can run a half marathon with my wife.
Plan: Follow the OPT model for strength endurance, hypertrophy, and max strength. Every three weeks completely throw off my routine by throwing in high intensity P90x style workouts for a week. As for my shin splints and running – my goal is to learn how to treat them.
Results: “I finally broke the 185 pound bench press mark – now able to rep 200 6 times.
Overall, I have definitely gained muscle and leaned out a little. I have lost around 5-8 lbs body fat and slowly replaced it with muscle mass.” See Photos

HFPN Member
Goal: To lose 13 pounds, to tone and strengthen, and to do this while studying for the CPT exam.
Plan: To follow the OPT model and use the dotFIT nutrition, cardio and resistance plans on a weekly basis.
Results: “I’ve lost 5.2 pounds officially!!! I just started my third week working with an amazing nutritionist. A little late in the game, but I needed to find someone who knew what I needed. I have cut out dairy, wheat and gluten. I am eating clean every 3 to 4 hours and I feel balanced and I am not craving all the carbs. I am continuing to work out following the OPT model and getting spin in when I can! Oh, and still studying…end of May exam.”
4. Andy Sharry aka Andy Sharry
Herbie Duggan (client)
4 karmas
Trainer to the Incredible Shrinking Herbie
Goal: Preparing to enter the MA Law Enforcement Academy; as such, wants to lose body fat, lose weight, gain strength, change eating habits, and improve his general state of wellness.
Plan: General improvement in nutrition through whole, unprocessed foods and cutting portions. Corrective Exercise phase, starting with assessments; then a significant amount of core work to activate and strengthen muscles.
Results: In 3 months, Herbie has dropped from 310 pounds to his current weight of 268. Yeah, that’s 42 pounds gone forever.
Herbie has made amazing progress-he is riding a hybrid mountain bike and is training for the Worcester Half-Marathon on June 13, 2010 – stronger than ever and moving forward!
5. Scott Welch aka Scott
3 karmas
Challenger
Goal: Put on 5-10 lbs of muscle, and to drop body fat percentage by 2-5%. Current weight = 163 lbs.
Plan: Target all parts of integrated training. Resistance plan will consist of entering the maximal power stage of the OPT model (currently in hypertrophy). Resistance training days of 4-5 days / week with 2 days rest. On the 2 days of rest I’ll perform 60-120 minutes of cardio-based training.
Results: Scott has been leaning out and pumping up…getting stronger every day!
Ok Fitness Challengers – Another Fitness Challenge has just a few more weeks to go and Triangle Man clearly has lost it! Or should we say The Triminator!
Last “episode” found Ben Tucker at the mercy of what seemed to be a debilitating injury. Now, find out what happens with the right technology, the right methodology, and everything else to rebuild him.
As Another Fitness Challenge kicks into Week 3, Ben begins taking slightly more severe action for his transformation into Triangle Man; notably by taking something called “the Rage.” He’s clearly been utilizing the 20%-off discount with dotFIT. Discuss this on our forums.
Welcome all Challengers…we are setting up the Contestant page and need your photos…we’ll be updating it as we receive your info…be sure to join the forum and start talking! We are excited to have you all participating and know it will be a great time for everyone involved. We look forward to some great experiences..and we’re sure, some new videos along the way!
Our president Ben (A.K.A. Triangle Man) demonstrates his complete ineptitude for speed ladders. Dean, NASM’s VP of Operations tries to help him out the best he can.
It wasn’t easy, but when his Co-workers applied a little pressure, Triangle Man (aka President Ben) agreed to let us “borrow” his expert coaches from Team Triangle for ONE HOUR to bring all of you a webinar featuring training tips from the best in the industry on nutrition, coaching and exercise..but he’ll only let us borrow these incredible trainers for a blink of the eye. More on that later..looks like February 25 will be the day..but for now..check out what happened when we tried to convince him to share his team.
So Ben, A.K.A. President of HFPN, A.K.A. “Triangle Man,” was given an overhead squat assessment, courtesy of Master Instructor Wendy Batts. Can you spot everything that’s wrong with him? We need your help finding out what’s really happening so we can help him! Check out these videos and go to the forum; tell us what you think.
And, Triangle Man’s just posted his “before” picture in his biography page. Should be interesting to see what develops in the coming 90 days! His stats are on the forum so check it out…oh my!
